Art Student Hard at Work

For students and faculty alike, a vibrant culture of learning and research is at the core of Ohio Wesleyan. Throughout the last century, the university has evolved as an institution of higher education. In this section, we focus on three different disciplines across three time periods: the early 1900s, the 1960s, and today. Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Fine Arts, and the sciences have helped elevate OWU’s academic reputation since its beginning. The various areas of study have adapted with the times, even as the commitment to maintaining quality scholarship remains constant. Areas such as Modern Foreign Language and the Fine Arts illustrate how change is a part of a liberal arts institution.  These departments have broadened the opportunities available to students through multiple language offerings and increased access to studio space. With a legacy of hard-working students and faculty dedicated to facilitating the growth of their pupils, OWU fosters an environment for intellectual discovery and exploration.
